The 26-year-old stunned defending champion Iga Swiatek to reach the quarter-finals in New York but she was dismantled by eventual champion Coco Gauff there to continue some topsy-turvy form in 2023. World number 43 Danielle Collins recently came back into form at the Canada Masters, stunning Maria Sakkari and Elina Svitolina before a three-set exit to Swiatek, but she has since failed to win back-to-back matches. The 29-year-old won her second of two WTA titles here two years ago just a week after claiming her first in Palermo and she could be a dark horse for a very deep run here with an affinity for the court. Nine of Ostapenko’s last 10 matches have seen three sets so backing former champion Collins to earn at least one looks a suitable way to avoid picking an outright winner.
