World number 122 Jaqueline Cristian overcame Kateryna Baindl in three sets on Friday to continue her excellent week in Prague. The 25-year-old stunned defending champion Marie Bouzkova in three sets to blow her portion of the draw wide open and she looks the fairly solid favourite to push on here in a first tour-level meeting with Nao Hibino. World number 136 Hibino conceded just three games to Tereza Martincova on Friday to oust another Czech from the draw and the Japanese looks to be enjoying playing with the freedom that comes with qualifying as a lucky loser after she fell in the final round on Sunday. The winner of this match will move back inside the top 100 on tour, with both players struggling for much of the past 12 months, but there is plenty of opportunity here with world number 71 Linda Noskova the highest-ranked player remaining in Prague. Cristian’s win over Bouzkova sets out her stall as the slight favourite here but taking the Romanian to earn at least a set is the sensible move given Hibino’s run.
