The 25-year-old enjoyed a few strong performances at Wimbledon last month, beating Bad Homburg champion Lucia Bronzetti before taking Beatriz Haddad-Maia to three sets in defeat, but there was little recent form to suggest this upset was on the cards. 22-year-old Emiliana Arango will set a new career-high WTA world ranking of 167th after a straight-sets victory over Barbora Palicova on Tuesday. The Colombian battled through her qualifying campaign well this weekend to make a rare main draw appearance but she has nothing to lose here in this huge opportunity for both players in Bouzkova’s absence. Cristian beat Arango at a clay-court futures event back in May and she looks the favourite in their first tour-level encounter. Take the Romanian to win outright.
