THE PREDICTION
Defending champion Jannik Sinner looks the solid favourite to add a 13th ATP title to his trophy cabinet today as he faces Alex de Minaur with a convincing 6-0 lead in their head-to-head. The 22-year-old first beat De Minaur to win the Next Gen ATP Finals in 2019 and he claimed another title at the Aussie’s expense last summer to pick up his maiden Masters title in Toronto. Sinner beat in-form Tallon Griekspoor in straight sets on Saturday for his most convincing win of what has been a slight struggle in his first tournament since his life-changing run to the Australian Open title last month, extending his winning streak to 14. World number 11 De Minaur has been thoroughly impressive this week in Rotterdam, first stunning former champion Andrey Rublev before an excellent straight-sets result over in-form Grigor Dimitrov, but this looks too steep a challenge against Sinner – who is possibly the best, if not most form, player on tour right now. Back Sinner to defend his title, probably in straight sets.
TIP: JANNIK SINNER TO WIN
