Coventry preview: Big win a few weeks ago
Coventry City went into the international break on the back of a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground, courtesy of a second half winner scored by Wales international defender Jay Dasilva.
The Sky Blues had begun their season with four defeats from four and pressure was seemingly growing on Frank Lampard after a 5-0 demolition at the hands of Brighton and Hove Albion.
Newcastle preview: Entertaining but inconsistent
Matthias Jaissle took charge of Newcastle United mid-way through pre-season and has experienced a mixed start to the campaign with The Magpies having won two, drawn two and lost one, emphatically, in their opening five games of the season.
A few weeks ago, Newcastle managed to defeat Hull City by two goals to one at St James’ Park, having raced into a 2-0 lead but the Tynesiders were perhaps fortunate to have eventually got past The Tigers in the end.
Coventry team news: A few issues
After joining from Nottingham Forest over the summer, striker Taiwo Awoniyi is still missing through suspension after being sent off against Brighton last month.
Coventry still have other issues with Aurele Amenda and Haji Wright sidelined while Milan van Ewijk and his deputy Kaine Kesler-Hayden are also doubtful.

Versatile defender Dan Burn, midfielder Joelinton and striker Will Osula have all dealt with injuries through the first part of the season with the trio working their way back to full fitness.

Coventry vs Newcastle prediction
There have been some concerns about the performance level of Newcastle after an entertaining start to the season which has seen their seven games across all competitions consist of 24 goals. Coventry, with home advantage, will want to get at the Geordies from the off and so both teams scoring may well be a decent bet but Newcastle do remain firm favourites.
