Hull preview: Surprise start
Having surpassed expectations to gain promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs last season, Hull City began with victories against Manchester United and Coventry City before creditable draws with Aston Villa and Chelsea.
They went 2-0 down early on in their most recent outing at St James’ Park against Newcastle United but were eventually unfortunate to succumb to a narrow 2-1 defeat on Tyneside a few weeks ago.
Everton preview: Still unbeaten
David Moyes has reason to be frustrated by summer transfer business at the Hill Dickinson Stadium but Everton have begun this season without a defeat in their opening seven matches across all competitions.
The Toffees went into the international break on the back of edging past newly-promoted Ipswich Town by a goal to nil, courtesy of a first half winner scored by the club’s only first-team striker Thierno Barry.
Hull team news: Stroud a doubt
Elliot Stroud had to leave the Sweden camp over the international break due to injury while fellow summer signings Nobel Mendy and Matt Targett remain doubts, too.
Hull continue to have plenty of confirmed absentees with Charlie Hughes and Hidemasa Morita remaining sidelined alongside Ilyas Ansah.

Hull vs Everton prediction
David Moyes, be it through a siege mentality or simply through his proven managerial qualities, has started the season very well with Everton despite some pressure from within the fanbase. Hull have been defensively solid since the end of the Championship season and through the play-offs into this year. They come up against an Evertonian side built on their strong defence and being obdurate so a low-scoring contest feels likely.
Hull vs Everton tip: Under 2.5 goals
