Man Utd preview: Under pressure Carrick
Manchester United finished last season well as they achieved a third place finish after the mid-season appointment of Michael Carrick but The Red Devils have now managed just two victories in their seven matches across all competitions so far this season.
After capitulating to defeat having been 2-0 up against Brighton and Hove Albion at Old Trafford in the EFL Cup, Matheus Cunha snatched a point with a late equaliser for United in a 1-1 draw against winless Fulham in their most recent outing.
Tottenham preview: Under pressure De Zerbi
Having survived relegation on the final day of last season and spent heavily over the summer with a full pre-season under Roberto De Zerbi, Tottenham Hotspur have again started slowly as they search for a first Premier League win.
Goalless draws against Nottingham Forest and Everton are Spurs’ only points thus far as they begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting rock-bottom after a 3-2 defeat to Aston Villa a few weeks ago with the scoreline flattering Spurs.
Man Utd team news: International issues
Patrick Dorgu sustained an injury on international duty with Denmark and so he is now a major doubt alongside Noussair Mazraoui and Benjamin Sesko, who had to withdraw from the Slovenia squad.
England international duo Kobbie Mainoo and Marcus Rashford opted to withdraw, too, from international duty but both would be expected to be involved here.

Man Utd vs Tottenham prediction
Spurs’ performances have been relatively reasonable but they struggle to defend when things begin to go against them and remain toothless and guilty of over-complicating things on a consistent basis going forward. United’s best under Carrick saw them capable of counter-attacking very effectively and that may well be a style they can deploy here against a De Zerbi-coached side and so siding with the hosts would appear the way to go for this one.
Man Utd vs Tottenham tip: Double chance – Man Utd to win or draw
