The Brit enjoyed a strong showing by home fans and he can count on a partisan atmosphere in this biggest match of his career on Wednesday against former semi-finalist Hubert Hurkacz. World number 18 Hurkacz looked assured in a straight-sets victory over Albert Ramos-Vinolas on Monday but the Pole has endured a tough season so far, despite lifting his sixth ATP title in Marseille in February.
