World number one Iga Swiatek looks a totally different player at SW19 one year on, with the stress of maintaining a 37-match winning streak this time last summer clearly affecting her ability to play on her least familiar surface. The 22-year-old won her fourth Grand Slam title at Roland-Garros last month, a third from Paris, and this year decided to take a break before playing some grass matches last week in Bad Homburg as she aims to better-separate the clay from the grass swings. World number 84 Sara Sorribes Tormo is an exciting player to watch on court but this looks a particularly bad match-up for the Spaniard. The former world number 32 is making steady progress repairing her ranking after a long injury lay-off but her baseline defence is likely to play directly into Swiatek’s hands in this first encounter between the two. The only way, seemingly, to beat the Pole is to take time away from her but Sorribes Tormo should struggle to find any sort of grip here. Back Swiatek to win in straight sets.
