THE PREDICTION
World number one Iga Swiatek meets world number two Aryna Sabalenka here for the second-successive season after the Pole won last year’s Stuttgart Open final in straight sets. This will be the seventh meeting between the two since the end of 2021 with 21-year-old Swiatek leading their head-to-head 4-2, including straight-set results in both of their matches on clay here and in Rome last summer. 24-year-old Sabalenka’s two wins over Swiatek have come in the last two editions of the WTA Finals in Guadalajara and Fort Worth but each of their last two matches have gone to three sets and Sabalenka is in much better form this season.
