World number 134 Harriet Dart upset Anhelina Kalinina for the second week running after also stunning the world number 26 in Nottingham last week. The Brit’s win in Birmingham is even more impressive without the element of surprise this time around but her defeat to Katie Boulter at this stage last week does not bode well against another powerful opponent here. World number 21 Anastasia Potapova has twice come back from sets down this week to beat Marta Kostyuk and Caty McNally – the latter with a superb 7-0 tiebreak on Thursday. The 22-year-old is still working out her game on grass but she possesses all the tool required to thrive on the surface one day soon. Three sets seem likelier than two here given Potapova’s results so far but it is hard to see Dart coming through this even backed by a partisan atmosphere. Back Potapova to win outright.
