29-year-old Gregoire Barrere will set a new career-high ATP world ranking of around 54th after claiming one of his best ever wins with a comeback over 11th seed Karen Khachanov on Friday. The Frenchman overcame an out-of-sorts Brandon Nakashima in the first round and recently stunned Cam Norrie at the Miami Open to prove himself against top players across surfaces. World number 32 Francisco Cerundolo also came back from a set down to beat Yibing Wu on Friday. The 24-year-old is certainly the more comfortable clay-courter here and recent wins over the likes of Felix Auger-Aliassime, Norrie and Casper Ruud put him in good stead for some strong runs in the coming months. A first meeting between the two is likely to need a decider given their performances so far so back the Argentine to earn at least one as the more experienced in these conditions and leave the victor up to chance.
