World number 28 Nicolas Jarry is enjoying the best season of his career so far at 27 years old and it will be fascinating to see what he can achieve on the hardcourts wing after impressing on clay and grass. The Chilean won his home tournament in Santiago back in February and added a third career ATP title in Geneva but he proved his form across surfaces with a stunning victory over Stefanos Tsitsipas in Halle before a huge effort in a four set defeat to eventual champion Carlos Alcaraz at Wimbledon. World number 144 Gijs Brouwer also had his moments on grass but the Dutchman looks set for a tough day in this first meeting with Jarry. Brouwer, also 27, needed three sets to oust Gabriel Diallo on Tuesday in a result that does not bode well for his chance here whilst Jarry comes off a convincing straight-sets win. Take Jarry to make the quarter-finals, probably in two.
