FRANCISCO CERUNDOLO VS YANNICK HANFMANN PREDICTION
World number 27 Francisco Cerundolo beat Yannick Hanfmann in straight sets en-route to the round of 16 here last season, where he took in-form Holger Rune to five sets before an agonising defeat. The Argentine went on to enjoy a strong summer, winning a second ATP title at the Eastbourne International, but he has endured a tough start to 2024 with a 13-15 record after a three-set upset by Hugo Gaston early in Lyon last week.
World number 85 Hanfmann enjoyed the best summer of his career last season, avenging his defeat here with victory over Cerundolo at the Hamburg Open amidst deep runs on clay and grass, but he is also currently well off of that pace.
Neither player brings much confidence into Paris but Cerundolo leads their head-to-head 2-1, with all three matches on clay, and he lost that Hamburg match via injury last time out to look a relative favourite here. Back the Argentine to win.
