Both world number 139 Filip Misolic and number 159 Jozef Kovalik blew their portion of the Bastad Open draw to smithereens on Tuesday with huge upsets, Misolic ousting Dusan Lajovic and Kovalik stunning Alejandro Davidovich Fokina. Both players came through qualifying strongly to get a good foothold in Bastad and this first meeting on tour between the two should be a fiercely contested battle for a rare quarter-final at this level, with a huge opportunity on the cards at this relatively undercooked ATP 250 tournament. 30-year-old Kovalik has the better recent results under tour level but this is certainly too tight a call to include in an accumulator.
