THE PREDICTION

World number 20 Felix Auger-Aliassime beat Botic van de Zandschulp in straight sets on Saturday to bounce back well from his defeat to Andrey Rublev at the Madrid Open final last time out. The 23-year-old upset Casper Ruud in Madrid for a career-best result on clay, a surface that has until recently looked to be by far his weakest, but injuries to three of his opponents during that campaign offered him more than a stroke of luck en-route to his first Masters final.

World number 11 Alex de Minaur looked assured in a straight-sets victory over Roberto Carballes Baena on Saturday but he has failed to win back-to-back matches since making the quarter-finals of the Monte-Carlo Masters last month, where he lost in straight sets to Novak Djokovic. The 25-year-old is a much more rounded all-court threat than Auger-Aliassime but the Canadian leads their head-to-head record 2-0 after two straight-set wins in his peak 2022 season. Back De Minaur to earn at least a set as the more comfortable on typical clay to leave the victor up to chance.

TIP: ALEX DE MINAUR TO WIN A SET
