THE PREDICTION

23-year-old Facundo Diaz Acosta set a new career-high ATP world ranking of 47th this week after an impressive spell at the Barcelona Open, where he beat Borna Coric and Fabian Marozsan well before taking eventual Monte-Carlo champion Stefanos Tsitsipas to a 10-8 deciding tiebreak in the quarter-finals in defeat. The Argentine won his maiden ATP title at the Buenos Aires Open in February and he has impressed across surfaces so far this season, almost upsetting Taylor Fritz in five sets at the Australian Open back in January, to establish himself as a serious up-and-comer. Former number 10 Denis Shapovalov handed an out-of-sorts Tsitsipas a sorry defeat at the Miami Open last month to look ready for a return to form but he has lost two matches since to recede back. The 25-year-old is capable of tennis eons better than his current ranking of 132nd but back the positive force of Diaz Acosta to be too much for this version of the Canadian.
