There are some fitness concerns after Svitolina pulled out of the Cincinnati Masters last week but if she takes to court on Tuesday she should have enough at 80% to beat Anna-Lena Friedsam. World number 88 Friedsam enjoyed a brief spell of form earlier this year but she takes a three-match losing streak at tour-level into the first round in New York, with her last appearance here coming back in 2020.
