THE PREDICTION

World number five Elena Rybakina came back from a set down to beat Danielle Collins in another huge tussle between the two on Thursday. The 24-year-old won her sixth WTA title at the Brisbane International at the start of the season but she suffered two surprising exits, first to Ekaterina Alexandrova in Adelaide and then to Anna Blinkova at the Australian Open, to suggest her late-2023 intermittence is still around. World number 75 Cristina Bucsa overcame Heather Watson in two tight sets to build on her excellent opening comeback over Xinyu Wang on Tuesday. The Spaniard is enjoying the momentum of a second wind here in Abu Dhabi after losing in qualifying but she has drawn one of the shortest straws on tour now. Rybakina beat Bucsa in straight sets in Adelaide last month and she can be backed to do the same here.

TIP: ELENA RYBAKINA TO WIN 2-0
