World number 46 Dusan Lajovic beat Felix Auger-Aliassime in three excellent sets at the Madrid Open two weeks ago before a tight defeat to eventual runner-up Jan-Lennard Struff in the third round. The 32-year-old had been playing strong tennis all season long but a remarkable run to his second ATP title last month at the Banka Luka Open came as a huge surprise, particularly as he beat compatriot and idol Novak Djokovic for the first time to do so. World number 88 Nuno Borges has so far enjoyed the best season of his career but he has struggled to transfer form from a Challenger win in Phoenix back in March to the clay swing so far, with just one win from four on the surface at tour level. It may take Lajovic a set to get back into the swing of things but the Serb has been one of the best on tour this past month and it should take a top player to oust him. Back Lajovic to win in straight sets, although outright would be the suitably cautious move for an accumulator.
