THE PREDICTION
24-year-old Mikael Ymer could set a new career-high ATP world ranking of 49th after claiming the biggest win of his career on Thursday, coming back from two sets down to oust last season’s quarter-finalist Taylor Fritz. The Swede reached the quarter-finals in Eastbourne last week to look ready for a string campaign but he has blown his section of the draw wide open now and this is a huge opportunity for both he and Daniel Elahi Galan to reach the round of 16 at a Grand Slam for the first time. World number 85 Galan has come from nowhere to make the third round after enduring a woeful season so far. The 27-year-old upset 24th seed Yoshihito Nishioka in straight sets in the first round and then overcame Oscar Otte in four tough sets on Thursday to look a threat here, especially as he beat Ymer comfortably in their only previous encounter four years ago. Sets should go both ways in this very tough match to call but back Ymer to earn at least two of them based on yesterday’s incredible performance. Leave this match out of an accumulator.
