2023 Hopman Cup winners Croatia know they must win all three of their matches in this tie if they are to have a realistic chance at progressing but they are not the unit they were last July, with Coric coming back from injury and Vekic far from the player who reached the Berlin Open final in June. The Netherlands boast one of the strongest doubles outfits at the United Cup in world number three Wesley Koolhof and number 16 Demi Schuurs, both specialists, and their combined experience in this format should outstrip Croatia here. Doubles number two Ivan Dodig partnered well with Vekic in a three-set defeat to Norway on Monday whilst Koolhof and Schuurs kept it quiet with a tight straight-sets win on Saturday. Dodig and Vekic should be better for a tough first test together but if this tie is live (at 1-1) the Croats should already know that they cannot proceed. Back the Netherlands to win the key moments to edge through to the quarter-finals.
