Expect aggro in this exciting looking second round clash between world number seven Andrey Rublev’s short fuse and wind-up merchant extraordinaire Corentin Moutet. 25-year-old Rublev played well to oust a strong clay-courter in Laslo Djere on Sunday, conceding one set to the Serb in an ultimately comfortable opener. The Russian recently broke his Masters duck by winning the Monte-Carlo Open with a huge performance over Holger Rune last month but he has been caught a little cold in recent weeks, particularly against world number 101 Yannick Hanfmann at the Italian Open last time out. World number 61 Corentin Moutet put in his best showing since retuning from injury with a four-set victory over Arthur Cazaux on Sunday but he will likely struggle to match Rublev’s power in by far his toughest match of a disrupted season. The 24-year-old will use every dark art he can with the backing of an adoring, partisan crowd on Wednesday but Rublev should be able to rise above the noise to come through in straight sets.
