THE PREDICTION

21-year-old Flavio Cobolli set a new career-high ATP world ranking of 76th this week after an excellent run from qualifying through to the third round of the Australian Open. The Italian impressed at the Next Gen ATP Finals late last season to look ready for a breakthrough year on tour but huge results over Nicolas Jarry and in-form Pavel Kotov in Melbourne suggest he could make a deep run here in Montpellier. World number 106 Constant Lestienne came back from a set down to beat clay specialist Bernabe Zapata Miralles on Wednesday and he will be backed to the hilt as something of a cult favourite in his native France. Cobolli looks too assured to fall for Lestienne’s enigmatic, unorthodox game at this moment in time, though, so back the Italian to reach the quarter-finals.

TIP: FLAVIO COBOLLI TO WIN
