THE PREDICTION

Elisabetta Cocciaretto and Clara Burel, both 22, will set new career-highs of around 31st and 61st, respectively, after reaching the Ladies Open Lausanne final. Cocciaretto came back from a set down to beat suddenly in-form Anna Bondar on Saturday to back up a strong result over Elina Avanesyan in the quarter-finals and the Italian is through to her second final of the season after finishing runner-up to Lauren Davis at the Hobart International. Burel also came back from a set down to oust fellow Frenchwoman Diane Parry, backing up an excellent result against Ana Bogdan who had looked a title contender before suffering an injury in their second set. Burel finished runner-up to Tamara Zidansek here two years ago to bring a touch of fate to the Lausanne final but Cocciaretto has been building up to this moment across the clay swing to look the just-about favourite. A first tour-level meeting leaves more questions than answers but take the Italian to earn at least a set with the better recent form.
