World number six Ons Jabeur finished runner-up to Elena Rybakina at Wimbledon last summer and she will be desperate to get as many matches on grass in her legs before returning to SW19 next week. The 28-year-old reached the quarter-finals at Roland-Garros before a tough defeat to Beatriz Haddad-Maia but it was, realistically, an impressive run considering she had only recently returned to tour from injury. A straight-sets victory over Jasmine Paolini on Tuesday was a solid start to her campaign in Eastbourne but world number 67 Camila Giorgi will be a much tougher test at a tournament in which she has thrived in recent seasons. 31-year-old Giorgi upset Garbine Muguruza at this stage last season and Aryna Sabalenka the year before in successive runs to the semi-finals. This should be a thrilling encounter between two players who use precision and natural hands in two very different ways but back Giorgi to earn at least a set to leave the victor up to chance.
