Former world number 12 Borna Coric enjoyed a straightforward win over Pedro Martinez on Thursday to build on his run to a Challenger final last week in Belgium, although the Croat should be too good to have lost that final. 21-year-old up-and-comer Flavio Cobolli came back from a set down to stun Gael Monfils in the first round here in Montpellier and he backed that up with a consummate result over Constant Lestienne that sets out his stall as the slight favourite in this first encounter with Coric, who has been desperately seeking consistent form for some time. Cobolli will set a new career-high ATP world ranking of 71st for his efforts so far but he looks capable of more this week. Back the Italian to earn at least a set to leave the result up to chance against a sleeping giant in Coric.
