37-year-old Barbora Strycova retired from professional tennis after the Australian Open in 2021 but she returned to the tour two weeks ago with an impressive performance in a straight-sets defeat to Elisabetta Cocciaretto. The former world number 16 is currently ranked outside the top 600 on tour but she is a huge anomaly in this draw and she will be targeting as any matches as she can handle ahead of her favoured grass swing this summer. World number 77 Maryna Zanevska is one of the more unpredictable players on tour but the Belgian favours clay, with a commanding victory over Sofia Kenin in Madrid two weeks ago a strong enough case to suggest she should ease through here. Strycova is capable of the upset here, though, so back Zanevska to win outright despite two sets feeling doable.
