World number 12 Barbora Krejcikova needed three sets to see off in-form Danka Kovinic on Friday and this next match looks trickier still. The former world number two is one of the best clay-courters on tour as the former Roland-Garros champion from 2021 but she was stunned, albeit in a bad patch, by Xiyu Wang on the surface last season in Budapest. 22-year-old Wang has twice come back from a set down this week to upset Varvara Gracheva and then 23rd seed Bianca Andreescu and the Chinese is a tough player to break down when she finds some confidence. Realistically, Krejcikova should be better in her second match this week to come through this test in straight sets but it would be wise to back her to win outright inside an accumulator.
