The teenager conceded just four games on Thursday to see her through to the last four without dropping a set and she looks well capable of continuing that run against world number 176 Mai Hontama, who has dropped two so far after coming back from a set down to beat Arianne Hartono on Thursday. 24-year-old Hontama will enjoy a partisan atmosphere in Osaka but it is hard to see how she can get past Krueger after the American’s considerably tougher and more consistent run.
