THE PREDICTION

22-year-old Emma Navarro will set a new career-high WTA world ranking of around 74th after a career-best run to the quarter-finals of the Strasbourg Open this week. The American upset Jil Teichmann in three sets on Tuesday for a great result on clay but this should be too steep a test against in-form Anna Kalinskaya. The world number 53 has recent wins on clay over Anhelina Kalinina, Victoria Azarenka and Elena Rybakina to look a reasonable candidate for a deep run in Paris but she should at least be able to set her own personal best having never made it past the second round at a Grand Slam. Kalinskaya had to retire from her most recent match in the third round of the Italian Open to throw some doubt over her fitness here so back the Russian to win outright instead of in straight sets.

Anna Kalinskaya has withdrawn from Roland-Garros. Back lucky loser Erika Andreeva to earn at least a set.
