World number 155 Anna Bondar put in a huge display to upset rising star Mirra Andreeva in straight sets on Wednesday. The Hungarian is through to the quarter-finals of the Lausanne Ladies Open without dropping a set but she will face a tough test next in 2021 champion Tamara Zidansek, who has put out Sara Sorribes Tormo and Lucia Bronzetti without dropping a set of her own. The world number 133 broke the top 30 on tour in 2021 when she produced a remarkable run to the semi-finals of Roland-Garros and whilst we have rarely seen that level on her favoured clay since there are some encouraging signs this week.
