World number 69 Elina Ananesyan came back from a set down to beat Rebecca Sramkova on Monday and she should be considered one of the title favourites here in Budapest on recent form, with so many seeds already departing. The 20-year-old recently set a career-high WTA world ranking of 64th after an excellent run to the quarter-finals of the Berlin 500 on grass backed up an incredible campaign at Roland-Garros, where she stunned Belinda Bencic en-route to a round of 16 exit to eventual runner-up Karolina Muchova. World number 144 Anna Bondar will enjoy a partisan support by home fans at the Hungarian Grand Prix but a three-set victory over compatriot Timea Babos does not bode well for her chances against the Russian, who should be better after an early scare. Bondar beat Avanesyan in straight sets at Cluj-Napoca late last season but the form tables have turned this time around. Take the Russian to win outright.
