World number 192 Ann Li came back from 6-0 down to beat Magda Linette in three sets on Tuesday, backing-up an impressive qualifying run in Cincinnati. The 23-year-old set a career-high WTA world ranking of 44th in January last season but she has struggled to find any sort of consistency on tour for well over a year now. World number two Aryna Sabalenka won her maiden Grand Slam title at the Australian Open back in January and she should be considered as serious a contender at the US Open next month as a semi-finalist there in 2021. The 25-year-old was upset by eventual runner-up Liudmila Samsonova in three sets in the round of 16 of the Canada Masters last week, her first match back since a semi-final exit to Ons Jabeur at Wimbledon, but she should be better here with a kind opener to get settled. Back the Belarussian to win in straight sets.
