31-year-old Yannick Hanfmann will set a new career-high ATP world ranking of around 85th after continuing his excellent form on clay into the round of 16 at the Italian Open. The German stunned Taylor Fritz in straight sets on Sunday before a three-set victory over home veteran Marco Cecchinato but three matches in three days could catch up with him here against the tireless Andrey Rublev. The world number six is yet to drop a set this tournament after an impressive display against Alejandro Davidovich Fokina on Monday, taking their opening tiebreak 10-8, and he has reached the final in two of his last three tournaments on clay, including the Monte-Carlo Open where he finally claimed his first Masters title. Whilst Hanfmann is at his best in these conditions this looks a step too far. Back Rublev to win outright for caution inside an accumulator but the Russian should be able to take this in two.
