World number 48 Alexander Bublik produced yet another upset over Alexander Zverev on Saturday, extending his lead in their head-to-head record to 3-1. The Kazakh brought a woeful 8-19 record into Halle but he looks liberated on court after four hugely impressive wins over Zverev, Jannik Sinner, Jan-Lennard Struff and Borna Coric. World number seven Andrey Rublev played well to oust Roberto Bautista Agut on Saturday, backing-up a three-set result over in-form Tallon Griekspoor. The 25-year-old is yet to win a title on grass but he has vast experience at this level with five of his 13 ATP titles coming at ATP 500 level. Rublev leads Bublik 3-0 in their head-to-head record and Bublik’s 1-6record in finals does not bode well for fans of his gung-ho first-serve or die tennis. Two of their three meetings saw sets go both ways but Rublev can win this match if he focuses on returning and then unrelenting against the Kazakh. Take Rublev to earn at least a set inside an accumulator or to win outright on its own.
