World number 13 Belinda Bencic looked strong in a straight-sets victory over Lucia Bronzetti on Monday but she will face a totally different test in big-serving Alycia Parks. 22-year-old Parks will set a new career-high WTA world ranking of around 40th after overcoming Lauren Davis in three sets in the first round, blasting 15 aces past her compatriot to back-up some solid work in qualifying. The American won her maiden WTA title by upsetting top seed Caroline Garcia at the Lyon Open in February and there is a superb game there for hardcourts that could find a lot of joy over the coming months. 26-year-old Bencic should have enough to come through this first meeting on this occasion but she did struggle against a strong server in Coco Gauff last week in Washington.
