26-year-old Alexander Bublik set a new career-high ATP world ranking of 26th this week after a shocking run to the Halle Open title two weeks ago. The Kazakh came back from a set down to beat Mackenzie McDonald in an uncharacteristically locked-in performance on Monday that genuinely puts him the conversation here at SW19 given wins over the likes of Alexander Zverev, Andrey Rublev and Jannik Sinner on grass last month. World number 48 J.J. Wolf beat Enzo Couacaud in straight sets on Monday to get a good foothold in at Wimbledon but the 24-year-old will have to stay focused against a very frustrating challenge ahead. Wolf beat Bublik in straight sets at the Miami Open in March to lead their head-to-head 2-0 but Bublik was in the midst of a drab run of form that seems to be well behind him now.
