The 22-year-old won his second ATP title at the similarly levelled Cordoba Open back in February and he has every chance at making it a third this week amidst a wide open field. World number 120 Alex Molcan is also aiming to repair his currently unrepresentative record and he has made great strides this week with an impressive win over up-and-comer Luca Van Assche before a superb comeback over home hopeful Sebastian Ofner on Wednesday. A first meeting between the two could be an interesting battle two of the more intense players on the tour but Baez’s better season and experience at this level should see him scrape through. Back the Argentine to make the semi-finals.
