25-year-old Stefanos Tsitsipas began the defence of his Los Cabos Open title well on Wednesday, conceding just three games to Aleksandar Vukic. The Greek dropped out of the top 10 for the first time in five years this week but a consummate win was a positive reaction to doing so and he can return to it by reaching the final here in Los Cabos, so long as Casper Ruud behind him does not win the event. World number 100 Aleksandar Kovacevic overcame Rinky Hijikata in three sets on Wednesday to back-up an excellent few days in Los Cabos, coming through qualifying to reach a rare quarter-final at this level. A first meeting with Tsitsipas looks too steep of a challenge with the Greek apparently feeling strong this week but it would not be surprise to see a tiebreak between two heavy hitters. Back Tsitsipas to win in straight sets.
