35-year-old Adrian Mannarino moved back up to world number 30 after winning the Hall of Fame Open two weeks ago, capping off an excellent turn on his favoured grass which also saw him finish runner-up at the Mallorca Championships. The Frenchman set a career-high ATP world ranking of 22nd back in 2018 as something of a late bloomer and he is capable of frustrating any player outside the top eight or so on his day. World number 115 Taro Daniel qualified without dropping a set this week to look ready for a battle and he beat Mannarino in their only previous encounter way back in 2016. The 30-year-old is occasionally capable of some extraordinary tennis but Mannarino should be better for an early exit in Washington last week as he comes up to the anniversary of his Winston-Salem title last August. Back the Frenchman to win outright but consider at least a set inside an accumulator.
