THE PREDICTION
Sam Querrey has long been a danger on grass – after all he has reached at least the quarter-final stage at Wimbledon on three previous occasions – and he once again lived up to his billing as a specialist on the surface when he eliminated 11-seed Pablo Carreno Busta in straight sets on Wednesday. Duckworth, who himself was a straight-sets victor in the first round, is also adept on grass but not to the same degree as the American, who will be eyeing up another deep run given that the draw is opening up nicely for him.
As always, Querrey’s serve will give him a significant advantage here. He clocked up 22 aces against Carreno Busta and it would be not be surprising to see a similar number in this contest. Duckworth will make life difficult at times, but Querrey should prevail.
