THE PREDICTION
Both world number one Ashleigh Barty and world number five Elina Svitolina had to dig deep to come from behind in their quarter-final clashes and this looks set to be a thrilling semi-final on Saturday. 24-year-old Barty was a little slow to react to a strong start from Karolina Pliskova but came back strongly to beat the Czech whilst Svitolina overcame Petra Kvitova in impressive circumstances to set up a second meeting with Barty this month. The pair last met earlier this month in the semi-finals of the Miami Masters when Barty beat the Ukrainian in straight sets on her way to defending her title and the Aussie is certainly the favourite for this rematch. 26-year-old Svitolina has been impressive all week, though, and it would not be a surprise to see this match go to a decider so take Barty to win outright here.
