The world number one will play Petra Kvitova for the second time this year having beat the Czech in three sets at the Miami Open to improve her record, although Kvitova leads this head-to-head 7-3. World number 10 Kvitova looked in excellent shape in her round of 16 match here against in-form Maria Sakkari and came through that tussle in three sets to set-up a first ever clay-court meeting between these two. Svitolina ha sown their last two matches and this looks a tough result to call. You could take this to need three sets and leave a winner up to chance but if pushed for a winner the quality of Kvitova’s beaten opponents this week in Sakkari and Jennifer Brady suggests she can reach the semi-finals.
