THE PREDICTION

The Open Sud de France draw has provided a rare first seed versus second seed final here as Roberto Bautista Agut has coasted here on three straight-sets performances whilst David Goffin has conceded two sets on his way. The Belgian is still not anywhere near his very best form but having changed coaches over the winter break that is to be expected and he will be greatly motivated to have reached another ATP final. 30-year-old Goffin has four ATP titles to his name so far tpo Bautista Agut’s nine and the pair have played five times previously, with a 3-2 head-to-head record favouring Goffin, who has won the last three matches in a row. The pair have not played since 2018, though, and since then the Spaniard has upped his game considerably. This should be a wonderful match to watch and there is no sense in totally discounting Goffin’s chances here, though a straight-sets victory for RBA seems the likeliest outcome on current form.
