THE PREDICTION
World number 39 Filip Krajinovic has made the final of a Masters 1000 event before now, although via a fairly charmed draw through the 2017 Paris Masters campaign. The 29-year-old is a handy player on clay too but can often push a match to the extreme before falling on the wrong side of the result and against all-or-nothing Nikoloz Basilashvili we could see something similar. World number 36 Basilashvili is one of the more unpredictable players on tour but when dialled-in he can be a difficult man to stop. The Georgian won the Qatar Open last month out of the blue and made the semi-finals of last week’s Sardegna Open before losing to an in-form clay maestro in Laslo Djere. This result has too many ifs and buts about it, though, to warrant an outright winner so take it to go to three sets like four of Basilashvili’s last five on tour.
