THE PREDICTION

World number 80 Alexei Popyrin is right on track for his best year on tour so far having won his first ATP title at the Singapore Open back in February. The 21-year-old almost shocked the Miami Open first seed Daniil Medvedev in the third round two weeks ago, losing out in the deciding set after a tiebreak won each, but his performance there in wins against Feliciano Lopez and Reilly Opelka were impressive straight-set wins indeed. He faces a clay court aficionado in Pablo Andujar, but the Spaniard has not looked his best in 2021 and failed to get close to adding a fifth ATP title on clay to his name on a disappointing South American swing last month. This should be a robust, lengthy encounter but Popyrin is on the up whilst it could be said world number 83 Andujar is on the recline. Take the Australian to win this match outright and you could add a tiebreak in this match for extra value.
