THE PREDICTION
World number 18 Felix Auger-Aliassime burst onto the scene at this tournament two years ago and there is history between these two players as John Isner beat the then 18-year-old in the semi-finals. Now 20 years old and with several runners-up medals to his name, Auger-Aliassime looks to be in great form and came through an in-form Pierre-Hugues Herbert in confident straight sets to meet Isner for a second time here. 35-year-old Isner is certainly nearer the twilight of his career two years on from that semi-final, from which he went on to win his only Masters event to date, and he was tested throughout by world number 120 Mackenzie McDonald in their second round match. Isner went a set down before a fightback in that match but he is unlikely to get the chance here. Auger-Aliassime still has plenty of mental strengthening to do alongside an ever-growing physical game but this match will mean a bit more to the Canadian and he should take out the veteran in straight sets.
