World number 46 Miomir Kecmanovic got off to a shaky start at the Miami Open but eventually came through his first round match against world number 158 Liam Broady in three sets. The 21-year-old Serb is still a hot prospect who perhaps has lost his way a little, though bringing in new coach David Nalbandian has turned a few heads on tour. Kecmanovic will face world number 36 Adrian Mannarino here, for the third time in under a year, and he has lost to the Frenchman on both previous meetings including at last month’s Australian Open. The fact that Kecmanovic has failed to take a set from Mannarino, the 25th seed here in Miami, suggests that this match is only going one way but Mannarino’s recent form says otherwise. The 32-year-old was forced to retire from his first match at the Mexican open against Grigor Dimitrov last week and is currently riding a three-match losing streak. A result looks tricky to call here as a result, so take this match to need all three sets and leave the winner up to chance.
