World number 60 Jordan Thompson should enjoy the conditions here in Miami more than most as an uber-fit Aussie and the 26-year-old was able to take out Federico Delbonis in straight sets on Thursday to reach the second round with little fuss. His reward is a tough first meeting with world number 19 Milos Raonic, with the Canadian’s form quite hard to pin down at this moment in time. 30-year-old Raonic was stunned by Dominik Koepfer at the Mexican Open last week, losing in straight sets in the round of 16, in his first tournament back from a tough Australian Open campaign. The former world number three has never won a Masters event but if he can find his form here there is a massive opportunity with so many top players missing from the draw. Raonic should be winning this match on quality but it would not be a surprise to see Thompson force this all the way. Take the Canadian to win outright here and add at least one tiebreak in the match for extra value.
